Hi Vernon
I am excited about this coming gig. At the same time, am sad because Reggie Verghese, Henry Chua & Jimmy Chan will not be playing. Reggie was and still is Singapore ace guitarist who has influenced many to learn the guitar. As for Henry, his composition 'Shanty' has opened the path for the band's success story. While keyboard mastrio Jimmy, who became the sixth member prior to the band's invasion of Hong Kong, has professionalize the band's distinguished sound with his keyboard touch. Eventually, he became a solo pianist whose success need no mention.
Hope someone can persuade them to join in. Anyway with or without them I'll be there.

Can someone advise me how can I get hold of their CDs? I believe they released a set of CDs with all their 60s songs some years back. I am unable to locate the CDs from HMV @ Somerset and several other CD shops. Thank you.
Christina
Sorry to disappoint you, Christina. Their CDs are not longer available in the market for sometime already. Let's hope that some record company would re-issue them again. But I won't bet on it for local 60s music in the present business climate. Good luck in your quest for The Quests !

Friends,
Understand tickets for all 3 shows already sold-out. Good start for 60s local music revival.Congrats to the boys. Cheers !

Hi Vernon
This could be the last chance to watch the band performs live as they may not come together again after these 3 shows. The last reunion was more than 20 years ago when they recorded the reunion CD "Inquest Of The Quests".
I hope these forthcoming concerts can be recorded for release on CD and DVD. Perhaps it can be done for charity course.
A big THANK YOU to Raymond Leong,Lim Wee Guan, Jap Chong, Vernon Cornelius and Samual Toh for coming together to entertain us again.
Tian
I fully agree with you Tian. It may be the last time the Quests would get together for a show. But on an optimistic note, let's hope the success of these concerts would encourage potential sponsors and the boys themselves to consider more acts in the future. Also, the recording companies may re-issue their materials or even a DVD of the concerts. The group is still well supported by their ageing but active fans from the 60s. I have received enquiries from fans in Perth about tickets for the shows. Hopefully, there will also be some commemorative items like T-Shirts, posters etc on sale for fans during the shows. Cheers.

Dear All,
I hope there would be some surprise "guest" appearances during the show. For nostalgic reasons, it would be great if other members of The Quests like Reggie, Henry and Jimmy could pop up onto the stage to say "Hello" to their fans. Make it happen, guys.
Luke Chan
Wow ! It's like old times....a walk down Memory Lane. Thanks for making it happen, Jap & Coy. I propose a short video clip on the history of The Quests before the show to set the tone for the evening. Rain or shine, it's a show not to be missed !
Warm regards to all my fellow Quests Fans.
Rachel Ann-Tan.
During The Rolling Stones' first 50th Anniversary Concert, ex-stone Bill Wyman & Mick Taylor appeared as guests for a few songs. I am sure Brian Jones would appear too if he is still alive.
So to Reggie, Henry & Jimmy, if you are reading this, please come on and perform for us again.

Although tickets oreadi sold-out, I am still receiving requests for tickets from my friends in Perth and Tokyo. How about an extra show on Sat 14 Sep, guys? Cheers.

Hi Vernon
I hope and wish you are right and I am wrong. That is these coming 3 shows would not be their final performance. I am one of their many ageing but active fans from the 60s which you have mentioned. In fact, it is my dying wish to see their complete recordings released in a box set collection. During the 90s, when recording companies were issuing CD box sets, I was hoping EMI Singapore would do the same for The Quests. All hopes died with the company's closure. In fact they almost released a box set featuring vintage recordings by Singapore and Malaysia artists signed by them. This would have been similar to the Universal Music's 5 CDs set 100 Greatest Singapore 60s.

Hey Guys ! Let the drums roll and the music of the 60s begin. The show of the year for fans of Singapore 60s. If only this show was held a few months earlier, we could even have Keith Locke on stage ! Thank you, Jap, Raymond, Wee, Sam, Vernon & the rest for making this show possible. I would'nt miss it for the world.
Gerardine Young.
Hi Gerardine
Could you tell us more about Keith Locke. Was he in Singapore a few months earlier?
Tian
Hi Tian,
I vaguely recall Keith was in town sometime in 2011. It was by chance that I saw him in one of the pubs and he did sang a couple of songs on stage by popular demand of the crowd. He was very friendly and mixed freely among us. Regret I did not seize the opportunity to chat up with him then.
Gerardine
Hi Gerardine
Thank you for sharing. Glad to hear that Keith is still with us. I wish I was there too as such opportunity is rare. A few years back there was talk that he has passed on. Thank God that is not true.

I attended The Quests band performance at queenstown cc on Saturday afternoon and it was a blast! :) It was superb. Solid 3 hours! I wished the band would gather again for another concert! Very glad to catch them and now I know why they are so popular back in the 1960s! Really an eye-opener for me as I am in my early 30s and have heard about the Quests only through my parents but I always like music from the 1950s to 1970s Cheers on The Quest Band

I attended the Quests concert with my dear pal Izylnn on the late show on 15Sep at the Queenstown Community Auditorium. The venue was compact and very comfortable. As expected, it was full house, which was the case for the 2 earlier shows, as I understand. The excitement builds up after the supporting act by one Mr Dominic Wong (not our age group lah, makes me feel so old). As the boys strolled onto the stage in dim lightning with some Star Wars ? background music,I felt a sense of pride for believing in this group since my teenage days. They still look smart in their suits and were very professional in their approach throughout the show. The night began with an instrumental - Peter Gunn.....followed by memories of the past....Be My Girl, I'll Be Your Man, Gallopin', Silly Girl, Sound Of Music, Mustapha, Come On Down To My Boat, Sunny, Rose Rose I Love You, La La La Means I Love You, Mr Rainbow, You Lied, Shanty...hits after hits from their 60s releases! Ivor and Clarence did well, standing in for the great Reggie & Jimmy. Sam was like a raw diamond from the African jungles....very polished with his footwork & bass. Wee and Jap have not lost any bit of their magic touches since the early Quests days and Vernon.....the live-wire and siren of the show. There is a Chinese saying..."old ginger tastes best!" and that's what this group of "25 years-olds" were all about. It would be a shame if this was to be their last concert. I am sure they are still good for another few years of good old Rock & Roll music! At the end of the show, fans from home and abroad gather round the group like the 60s days for autographs and photo, video shots. Thank you for the music, Jap, Vernon, Wee, Sam , Ivor and Clarence. Hopefully, the band will be back with another big bang in the near future. It was a night to remember and cherish.....you guys still rocks ! As I drove home along Commonwealth Avenue, the voice of Jap Chong serending Jasemine from my speakers sends tears of nostalgic onto my eyes....still not enough of the Quests !
Love you guys,
Rachel Ann Tan
Hi Rachel,
Thanks for sharing your joys on the Concert of the Year ! Its a real pity I missed it....tickets sold-out !
Richard
Wow !!! Still the best of Singapore local pops after all these years. Their performance was excellence plus, despite their 25 year old age (drummed into us by Vernon, the Peter Pan of Singapore).
Its a great achievement for the boys to be able to get together for their fans. 60s music still tops. Also many thanks to Queenstown CC for bringing them back to us, where they belong. The Quests Band were reelin' & rockin' during the show.
Love you guys !

Hello to Vernon Cheong and all Quests fans,
Like many of you, I also attended the concert on 15 Sept 2013 at 2pm. It is great to see so many of us waiting anxiously for the show to start. For more than 2 hours, we enjoyed some of the original songs by the group bringing fond memories of our teenage years.
And for those of you who did not get to attend the 3 concerts, I have uploaded few videos in YT under my name below.
Foo Jong Fook
Many thanks for the uploads Mr. Foo. I am sure fans who missed the shows would enjoy it and appreciate your kind gesture. Cheers !
vernon cheong
Thanks Mr Foo and Vernon for the videos. Love them ! Oldies still good on stage.
Christina
Good morning Vernon. Ting wants to thank you specially for arranging the photoshoot with Jap and the Quests. On behalf of all his friends, who are Quests fans, from Kuching, he wishes to congratulate them on the successful and wonderful performances. He is looking forward to more perfomances in the future.

After three highly successful concerts last weekend, we now hold our breath for more good news from our favourite band from the 60s. Make it happen again guys. We are all getting younger before its too late for some of us.

A friend who is visiting from Canada wishes to find out about the fan club of Wang Qing Yuen. She claims there is one. I am totally new to this singer. Can anyone help? Thank you very much indeed.
Just read the sad news online of Jap Chong's passing. May he rest in peace. He will be sorely missed but fondly remembered.
