Uncle Ray 101 - Hong Kong All Time Favourites

Hi, this is Uncle Ray! Over the years I introduced and presented the local pop scene of the 60's. Most of my local listeners are mainly Chinese teenagers who grew up with my kind of music and upon graduation, some have immigrated to different parts of the world, like Toronto, Vancouver, the United States, Australia and UK but still listening to my late night shows, thanks to the Internet.

As we grew older we cast our memories to the good old days remembering the good old teenage times. With this in mind, I have sought the help of Universal Records to put together a huge collection of the 60s and 70s music that bought us such joy during our younger days. This rare opportunity was very carefully selected and some of these recordings are no longer available. So be proud, be happy, sit back and put the first CD on and relax... You were young, carefree, and life was simple, wonderful, and those good old memories may never come back again.

- Uncle Ray.

PS - This 6-CD Box-set is now available at local stores in Singapore.

Thank you Uncle Ray for sharing the wonderful musical memories of HK. There are too many great HK artists to be mentioned here. Many of them were also household names in S'pore. Although I have not seen the packaging yet, I am confident that it will make me hungry for further vols.

Saw the package at the shop & was delighted with the selections printed on the cover. Naturally I bought it without second thought.

However, it was a short happiness. Upon opening the package at home, I discovered the inlet booklet (with the same cover shown on this blog) was crushed & damaged. This killed my expected hunger for further volumes. HK's music & artists are great but its audio-visual industry is suck. I had a similar problem with a Sam Hui box-set years before.

To Uncle Ray if you are reading this, please kindly forward my feedback to the music company concerned.

OMG.... my friend came back from Hong Kong and gave me a copy of "Uncle Ray 101 - Hong Kong All Time Favorites"...6 CDs and simply wonderful with so many HK artists and have just started listening to my copy. This friend told me he enjoyed listening to Uncle Ray and is indeed a fantastic DJ.

I'll be taking the copy along with me for my trip. Again much thanks Uncle Ray.
