Sakura Teng
Sakura Teng aka Ying Hua was one of the more popular female Mandarin song singers from the 60s era. She sang in a variety of languages, from Mandarin to Bahasa Malaysia, English and even Japanese. Many of her recordings were accompanied by The Quests. A household name in RTS' Chinese Variety Show in the evenings.

I grew up listening to Rita & Sakura. It was them who inspired me to become a Tv producer in Singapore back in the 80s.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if you can post their music in MP3 format.
Please pretty please.... KS
Sakura certainly live up to her name with her wow dynamic voice and singing. I had only an EP of hers & Rita Chao and unforunately had left couple of their EPs in my late aunt's house!!
ReplyDeleteWonder if there will be a CD compilation with all her albums and certainly make a good collection too.
Jane,
ReplyDeleteEMI Singapore released the "Sakura Goes Boom Boom" CD compilation some years back. In addition, there were also a couple of Rita Chao's CD compilation, plus two compilation of the Rita & Sakura's duet recordings. Happy hunting !
Cheers.
